The design of the new headquarters of the College of Architects, is set taking into account the heritage value of the house designed to accommodate the new functions of the institution. Both the equity as their past records, for there ran the former bakery Villa, mean issues that are taken to develop the design.
For starters, it was decided to visually open the main entrance, to show the old building itself, whose main facade is translated into a gallery. The limit is removed from the street line and level, into a simple grid as a prelude to taking a space on the sidewalk that goes inside, becoming a dry cloth, while preserving existing trees. Once inside, the rooms closest to them, are destined to become offices for rent to the public, whose walls are arranged in glass blindex carpentry, to not interfere with the integrity of the spaces heritage.
Inland, the first thing that occurs is the large space where it was operating before the bakery itself. It was decided to take the museum space that exposes the old machinery to make it the threshold of the auditorium, and that this interacts with the user as a place of socialization.
Upon entering the courtyard, it appears that this has become a recreational area, a cafe, serving the kitchen of the institution, which is also connected with the opening of former openings, into the living museum. In the courtyard lies the most innovative action of the whole project: the construction of a ladder and copper-colored metal bridge which emphasis on the whole and which connects the upper floor where the Companies operate architects, currently without access to the upper floor of the front bays. Downstairs
services work bathrooms, kitchen and storage, as well as the secretariat, the sector management and administration of the institution. In office workplaces are established as well as the implementation of a library, serving schools and architectural interest in the subject.
Along with the new auditorium, separated by a wall, down a hall to meeting room and outside where it was decided to proceed with the partial filling of the land sheer, leaving a railing overlooking the garden considerable slope, thus the solution to the marked change in level with the adjoining house without venturing to fill full and the invasion of neighboring with this exercise.
