2010 Pritzker Architecture Prize

This time I touch the Japanese architecture firm SANAA, founded by Sejima and Nishizawa Kazuyou in 1995 in Tokyo, Tokyo.

Both architects, have international experience in the architectural production, with some important examples such as: Rolex Project Community Center, Lausanne, Switzerland; Glass Pavilion at the Toledo Museum of Art, Toledo, USA. USA, New Museum of Contemporary Art in New York, Project Proposal for the Recovery of Historical Center of Salerno; Park Café Lumiere project, Almere, Netherlands, Project Contemporary Art Center in Rome, Rome, Italy; Shop Issey Miyake, Tokyo, Japan Museum of Contemporary Art in Kanazawa XXI Century; Expansion Project Instituto Valenciano de Arte Moderno.

These last two projects, allowed SANAA win the Golden Lion for the most significant work of the 9 th Venice Biennale in 2004.

The Pritzker Prize is the most prestigious of those granted to the career of an architect.

The Hyatt Foundation grants and was created in 1979 by Pritzker, a wealthy Chicago family that owns the Hyatt hotel chain. Awardees receive $ 100,000, a formal citation certificate, and since 1987, a bronze medallion.
counts among its long list of members jury, with stellar figures from the worlds of architecture, many of them winners of the Pritzker in past years such as Kevin Roche, Fumihiko Maki, Ricardo Legorreta, Frank Gehry, Shigeru Ban, Arata Isozaki and Cesar Pelli Renzo Piano.
